What is Dokera Healthcare?

Dokera is a digital platform that connects hospitals with qualified physicians for locum and shift-based work. It simplifies shift posting, physician applications, and confirmations — all in one place.

How does the platform work?

Hospitals post shifts → Physicians browse and apply → Hospitals review applicants → Once accepted, both sides can chat and confirm details.

Is there a cost to sign up?

No, signing up is free for both hospitals and physicians. Fees apply only when shifts are successfully booked.

Is the platform secure?

Yes. Dokera uses role-based access, encrypted data, and compliance-ready processes. Personal details remain hidden until a shift is confirmed.

How do hospitals post shifts?

After signing up and verifying your hospital profile, you can post available shifts through the hospital dashboard in just a few clicks.

How do hospitals review physician applicants?

You'll see a list of verified physicians who applied, with profiles showing specialties, licenses, and experience.

Can hospitals directly chat with physicians?

Yes. Once an application is submitted, you can use the in-platform chat to clarify details before acceptance.

Do hospitals need to handle physician payroll and HR?

No. All physicians on Dokera are independent contractors (1099 status). This means hospitals only pay for services through the platform — no payroll, HR, or benefits management is required. Dokera facilitates verification, contracting, and payouts.

What happens if a physician cancels last minute?

We provide replacement options from our network and support through the admin team to minimize disruption.

How much does Dokera charge hospitals?

Hospitals pay physicians their agreed hourly rate. Dokera charges a 30% service fee on top of that rate, which covers platform use, physician verification, malpractice coverage, and administrative support.

How do physicians apply for shifts?

After signing up and uploading your credentials, you can browse shifts, view details (hospital name hidden until confirmation), and click "Apply."

How do physicians get paid?

Payments are processed securely through the platform. You'll see your earnings in the physician dashboard, with direct deposits available.

Do physicians need malpractice insurance?

No, malpractice coverage will be provided through Dokera for confirmed shifts.

Can I talk to the hospital before accepting a shift?

Yes. Once you apply, the in-platform chat lets you ask questions and clarify details before confirmation.

Is there a penalty for canceling a shift?

We strongly encourage reliability. Frequent last-minute cancellations may affect your standing on the platform.

Can I use Dokera while working full-time elsewhere?

Yes. Dokera is flexible — you choose the shifts that fit your schedule.
